On the entire Gorenje bicycle network (GKO), where 640 kilometers of national and local bicycle connections are intertwined, you can notice NEW, unified bicycle markings, which are the result of the work of the Advisory Body of the Gorenje Region for the Development of Cycling (SORK).

SORK consists of representatives of development agencies: BSC Kranj – Regional Development Agency of Gorenjska, Development Agency of Sora, Development Agency of Zgornja Gorenjska, as well as representatives of municipalities and cyclists.

The Gorenjska region strives for the integrated development of cycling at the regional level and is also the first region to set up a cycling network in a systematic, connected and unified manner. In cooperation with the Directorate of Infrastructure of the Republic of Slovenia (DRSI) and representatives of 24 municipalities, SORK established the Gorenjska bicycle network, which consists of 640 kilometers of national and local bicycle connections in Gorenjska and some neighboring municipalities.

In many locations, unified traffic signals for cyclists are already directing you, and at the same time cycle paths are also being arranged. Do you recognize the locations in the photos below?

  • presentation of the routes of the Gorenje cycling network,
  • list of providers at bicycle connections,
  • trip ideas,
  • interactive map attractions, accommodation and more.

In addition to the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Directorate of Infrastructure of the Republic of Slovenia, the Gorenje bicycle network project is financed by: Municipality of Bled, Municipality of Bohinj, Municipality of Cerklje na Gorenjska, Municipality of Gorenje vas-Poljane, Municipality of Gorje, Municipality of Jesenice, Municipality of Jezersko, Municipality of Kamnik, Municipality of Kranj, Municipality of Kranjska Gora, Logatec Municipality, Medvode Municipality, Naklo Municipality, Preddvor Municipality, Radovljica Municipality, Šenčur Municipality, Škofja Loka Municipality, Tržič Municipality, Vodice Municipality, Železniki Municipality, Žiri Municipality, Žirovnica Municipality.
