NEW E-BUSES IN CITY MUNICIPALITY OF KRANJ

The municipality of Kranj acquired four more electric buses from MAN in January 2024.

In 2023, the Municipality of Kranj replaced four diesel buses with ten-meter electric buses in its bus fleet of sixteen buses.

This year, the MAN company delivered four more electric buses to the municipality. Most of the financial resources for financing the buses were obtained from the national Eco Fund. The Eco Fund’s contribution amounts to 350,000 euros per vehicle and the difference to the full value will be covered by the concessionaire, Arriva Slovenia, by paying the monthly rent for the buses.

“According to the estimates of Arrive, which operates urban passenger traffic in Kranj, the replacement of only four conventional (diesel-powered) vehicles with electric vehicles and the installation of two fast charging stations should mean the decarbonization of a total of 313,000 kilometers, which is 360,000 kilograms less CO2 emissions per year or 5.4 million tons of CO2 less during the 15-year lifetime of vehicles,” stated the municipality of Kranj.

The City Municipality of Kranj is hereby upgrading one pillar of the Electric Mobility in the Municipality of Kranj project, which is implemented in three pillars – the first covers the updating of the fleet of the municipality and public institutions with e-vehicles and the installation of charging stations for them, the second includes the installation of public charging stations, in and the third is the construction of three solar power plants.
