The County administrative board of Kronoberg organized the kick-off partnership meeting of the ZCI – Zero-Carbon Infrastructure project, from Wednesday, March 15 to Friday, March 17. The meeting was attended by 9 partner organizations. The project is approved under the “Green Europe” Interreg program priority and will last until the end of February, 2027.
From March 15 to March 17 2023, the lead partner of the project, the County administrative board of Kronoberg, Sweden, organized, in its business premises, a kick-off meeting of the ZCI (Zero Carbon Infrastructure) project. The project was approved in the framework of the first call of the Interreg Europe program, in the financial period 2021-2027. The meeting was attended by 21 partners from 9 partner organizations and as many European countries: Slovenia, Italy, Belgium, Ireland, Spain, Bulgaria, Finland, the Netherlands and Sweden.
The main objective of the project is to improve policies for the accelerated implementation of charging infrastructure for alternative fuel sources, especially for electric mobility (battery electric vehicles and hydrogen) based on the transfer of foreign good practices, business models for public passenger transport and logistics in urban environments.
In the project, the transfer of knowledge from abroad addresses more efficient planning of the infrastructure for mobility on alternative fuels. The project’s activities will facilitate the cooperation of local, regional and national authorities responsible for transport infrastructure, energy and spatial planning in the preparation of policies and projects for the establishment of infrastructure for mobility on alternative fuels. BSC Kranj addresses Regional Development Programme of Gorenjska 2021-2027, in priority axis 6.5 Gorenjska – accessible and traffic-safe region, Connected Gorenjska, measure: Management, calming of traffic and introduction of smart mobility methods on alternative fuel sources.
The initial partnership meeting was organized in three sections. The first part was dedicated to exchanging needs in the area of policies to accelerate the implementation of infrastructure for alternative fuels (electricity, hydrogen, natural gas) and discussing the situation in this area. The second part of the partners’ meeting was dedicated to viewing the multimodal transportation hub and parking lot equipped with charging infrastructure and the presentation of the business model, while the third part of the meeting was dedicated to management and promotional activities related to the project.
The first activities of the project are identifying good practices and exchanging knowledge at the transnational level by organizing master classes for the transfer of knowledge and solving business and technological challenges.
