Functioning, efficient and affordable public passenger transport (PPT) is one of the most important aspects of sustainable mobility. This is what the country is aiming to achieve with the Integrated Public Passenger Transport (IJPP) project, which makes it easier and more affordable for users to use public transport.
We know that if public transport were more accessible, users would choose to use it more often. Bus and train timetables are inconsistent, capacities are inadequate for the number of passengers and many rural settlements face insufficient frequencies. This challenge is also being addressed through the ReMOBIL project, where six regional development agencies are piloting the operation of Regional Mobility Centres (RMCs). One of the tasks of these centres is to improve the user experience when using public transport, and also to support the development of MaaS (Mobility as a Service) in Slovenia.

Regular urban and international bus services in Gorenjska are provided by ARRIVA (https://arriva.si/en/) and train services are provided by Slovenske železnice (https://potniski.sz.si/en/).
In addition to the regular services, some tourist micro-destinations run special transport services during the summer tourist season from parking lots to key tourist points and hiking trailheads:
